29 Feb Email Marketing Refresh
Although times have changed and these days we have tweets, likes and status updates. That doesn’t mean our fondness for email is any less. Actually, some might say that the email inbox is more exclusive.
How do you browse your inbox? What do you like seeing? What do you want to see less of? Keep your target market in mind when creating your email marketing plan.
These days’ people have the ability to pay bills from their email, accept invitations, and receive money. The possibilities are endless. Basically, browsing your email has become the millennial equivalent to reading the newspaper while having breakfast. This is a huge opportunity for your email marketing to shine through and highlight your goods or services.
Every once in a while, your emails need a little refresher. Its like updating your wardrobe or spring cleaning. It’s something you may want to do periodically to renew your look and keep viewers engaged.
If you’ve used the same look for a while, it may be time to switch it up. Or maybe you just did some rebranding and you want your emails to match. Whatever your reason for revising, we’ve got some ideas to help you get started.
Revive your Subject Lines
Maybe your subject lines have become a bit stale lately? If so, its time to resurrect them. Scroll through your inbox for some inspiration. What subject lines do you respond to? Make some notes and use those to brainstorm ideas. Your subject line should be clear, creative and urgent. Ideally, the subject line should tell your readers the point of the email and encourage them to open it promptly.
Change the Template
Let’s say you’re using a template, so you don’t have to spend hours designing one. If you’re going through and wanting to invigorate things, this is a place to start. Try out a new template, sometimes just a change of scenery is all that is needed to catch the reader’s eye.
Change the Layout
If modifying your template is too drastic, you can always choose a different layout that uses the same design. If you don’t want to revise the design, try selecting a different color scheme.
Clean up Content
You’ve finished sprucing up design elements and freshening up your subject line, its time to look at content. When it comes to updating your email marketing message, there are four things to consider: relevance, voice, clarity and brevity. Keep in mind that you don’t want to go overboard with your email content. There’s a time and a place for that, like newsletter!
